Classic Fresh Strawberry Pie

Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups fresh strawberries halved
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups cold water
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 box 3 oz strawberry jello
  • 1 9- inch baked pie shell or graham cracker crust
  • Whipped cream for topping

Method
 

  1. Wash, stem, and halve the strawberries, then arrange them in the pie shell.
  2. In a small saucepan, whisk together water, sugar, and cornstarch.
  3. Cook over medium-low heat until the mixture is thick and bubbly.
  4. Continue to cook and stir for 2 minutes after it begins to bubble.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in the strawberry jello until dissolved.
  6. Let the glaze cool for about 5-10 minutes.
